Week 5:

Welp... it's time for a weekly update again! I'm Andy Mattingly, the newest engineer for the Blood 2 team... and my main focus on the game has been the interface and menus. Since that's what I've been staring at for the last few weeks, I thought it'd be perfect to let everyone else take a look at it as well.

I'll start off by showing what you'll see when you start up the game. This is a picture of our main menu (coding by Greg and graphics by Eric)... it's pretty self-explanatory though, so I won't go into it. :)

Now, you may have seen a little of the interface in some of the screen shots floating around... and you might be asking 'What the #@*$ does all that stuff mean?' Well, that takes me to the second screen shot.

As we watch the civilian beg me not to chop his legs off (thanks to Schlegel's AI and GIBs), we see the status bar at the bottom of the screen in its normal mode. From left to right we have health (with a beating heart that changes speed according to the value), armor with the beetle symbol, the currently selected item, the selected spell, your current amount of focus (mana), and the amount of ammo for the current weapon.

When we want to select a new item or spell... the item tab unfolds to show the currently available inventory (as seen in this picture), and you can slide them around to get to the one you want.
